OAS AG implements the yard management for a globally active manufacturer of paper and nonwovens at its German location. The aim of the measure is the efficient handling of truck traffic on the factory premises while at the same time relieving the company's own personnel.
In the run-up to the implementation, an individual yard management concept was developed in close cooperation with the customer, which is precisely tailored to the requirements of the site. In addition to truck scales, the planning concept also includes multilingual self-service terminals for autonomous scale operation and contactless transfer of the required documents. Through the safe traffic guidance of the driver along a step chain defined together with the customer, the optimisation of the traffic flow within the entire factory premises as well as the release of the staff from unnecessary tasks is to be achieved.
In future, the yard traffic will be controlled centrally via the OAS logis yard management software. With its help, the responsible personnel has a direct and quick overview of the logistical processes on the factory premises at all times. At the same time, loading and unloading at the various stations can be controlled efficiently. The factory logistics system is designed to be flexible, so that after a successful initial installation, additional points and/or components (vehicle scales, loading and unloading points, additional self-service terminals, etc.) can be integrated in the future.
