AI and software systems can support human personnel in a wide range of tasks, from difficult and tedious manual work to complex decision-making tasks.
How can artificial intelligence be used to further improve collaboration between people and software applications and make processes more efficient?
We are investigating this question in the EU project AI4Work together with international partners from research and industry. Together with the University of Groningen (Netherlands), the Technical University of Lappeenranta (Finland), the Fondazione Bruno Kessler (Italy), the ATB - Institute for Applied Systems Technology Bremen (Germany), Kuka AG (Germany) and BioAssist (Greece), among others, we are developing new approaches to further optimise processes with the help of intelligent systems.
The vision of the AI4Work project is to improve communication and collaboration between humans, AI and robots. The aim is to increase the efficiency of processes, relieve decision-makers of complex decisions, but inform them of uncertain decisions and involve them in the decision-making process (sliding work sharing).
