Business is doing well for OAS AG in Bremen. And since good business needs appropriate space for good ideas, the Bremen plant engineering and process technology specialist will move in a new building on Caroline-Herschel-Straße next year. On Friday, the members of the Board of Directors celebrated the official start of construction work by laying the foundation stone on the site in the technology park of the University of Bremen of 4,200 square metres in total size. "I am happy about the continuous growth of the company since its establishment and that today we may lay the foundation stone for a larger new building for the fifth time already," says the founder of the company and director Otto A. Schwimmbeck.
More than 200 invited guests from the fields of economy and politics attended the foundation ceremony, among them the Mayoress of Bremen and Senator of Finance Karoline Linnert, the President of the University of Bremen Prof. Wilfried Müller, and the Senator of Commerce, Labour, and Ports Martin Günthner. "As one of the first companies here in the university's technology park, OAS AG sends an important signal for further settlements at this highly attractive location," states the Senator of Commerce.
In an own building committee, OAS AG allowed its employees to take part in the layout of rooms in the new office building. "Motivated employees who may and want to help to create their own workplace are in the end the basis for further growth," explains Uwe Heidbreder authorised signatory at OAS. Moving in is scheduled for November 2012. The offices will cover about 4,500 square metres of floor space for the then 200 employees of OAS AG, the IT-subsidiary Regiodata, and the OAS Automation GmbH. OAS AG will let another 3,500 square metres of office space in the new five-storey building.
