Bremen, 17 December 2013 – On LogiMAT 2014, the international trade show for distribution, flow of materials, and flow of information, OAS AG puts emphasis on automated operations in the flows of materials and goods. Here, OAS AG brings innovative software and hardware components into focus, which will close the automation gap in rapid and reliable processing of in-house lorry traffic. Besides the software application LOGIS designed to control complex logistic processes, the Bremen process specialists present Logistic Terminals designed to automate lorry traffic and gain more efficiency.
Whether it is about plant logistics, dispatch automation, or yard management, the proven control system LOGISenterprise helps the plant operators to consistently track all lorry traffic and to control access to their plants. Since all subprocesses along a process chain are recorded in an integrated manner, this tool provides for efficient monitoring of lorry traffic and, additionally, for resource planning as required on the loading and unloading points. Depending on the degree of automation and project-specific restrictions, the drivers are able to process their transports via the software in a nearly fully-automated manner. LOGISenterprise provides for simple implementation of single plant locations into central control concepts and for connection to most diverse host or warehouse management systems.
The Logistics Terminals by OAS AG complement this automation concept on the hardware side. On the self-service stations, the drivers can process the transports on their own having to enter only a few data – from registration, through loading and unloading, ending up with the output of transport documents and all the formalities required.
This reduces the lead times and minimises the processing expenditure. The terminals are produced in volume by OAS but they get a project-driven layout and when required they can be extended with mobile end devices or customer-specific special functions, such as the scanning of documents, handling of pagers, biometric identification, or a height adjustment.
In this way, the soft- and hardware components by OAS AG close a frequent automation gap in the plant and provide for a transparent yard management and consistent documentation of the transactions.
